I was only teasing - and feeling old! No offence meant - certainly agree on the "don't know about grown up" front...

And why does that surprise you so much? Some of us have grasped the basics of this new technology despite being at school before pocket calculators were invented, before the days of colour TV... Eeee, back then, Morris Minors weren't classic cars, the most you'd pay for one was £85 (honest!) etc etc...

Machine Mart do a 16 cfm one with a 100l tank, but you'll need a 30a (single phase) supply to run it. It was PC's best buy - they reckoned it ran most air tools fine, and I'll second that. Reader, I bought one, and it's great.

Excellent - looks like I'll be bashing the phone and the credit card tomorrow. Next question's going to be about props and shortening, but don't hold your breath, I've not decided on/ got the box yet, and still can't make my mind up whether to sully the Morry engine bay with another makers engine .....

Escort axle

Exceellent - presume you mean the "other" Morry centre, not Charlie Wares! Bath is in spitting distance, so that's great news - I've got to head out that way for loads of car related bits and bobs v.soon anyhow! Thanks Andrew 1971 pickup someone made out of a van, 1963 pickup being lovingl...

Escort Axle

I've just got an Escort Mk2 axle to fit to one of my pickups. Does anyone have any advice on fitting it to the springs? Do I use 'scort U bolts etc or what? Sorry, this may end up being a repeat posting - tried it last night, but it didn't seem to work...

A local scrappy down here has a couple of travellers in, would that provide the necessary bits - can post the address if you're interested. One of them, BTW, looks restorable, but engineless - t'other is way past anything but bits and bobs salvaging...

Do you still have the Van body? If so, how's the floor in the back? I'm restoring an original pickup that has lost the floor in the pickup bed at some point - on the assumption that the van and PU floors are the same or similar, I'm v. interested! Still happy to send pics/dimensions etc of wooden ba...

BKL485L

Anyone seen/got Austin pickup BKL485L? Last seen in Bristol in about 1987 - a nasty red primer finish, sadly grew a hole in drivers footwell floor, and had to be sold as the rent was a bit more important... :(

It's probably not relevant to you, but have a pickup, QED no boot. Made a plywood shelf for under the dash and mounted the changer under that in the passenger footwell - out of sight from outside the car...

Charlie Ware's MM centre in Bath do a f'glass cab back, which may be the easiest/cheapest way to go. More than happy to send dimensions/pics, if I could work out how to exchange email addresses!
