Re: Mr Grumpy Brake Disc Kit
Thanks for your kind offers. Tomorrow I am going to try and clean up my old bolts by running them through a die and use new nylock nuts and threadlock. Not ideal, but I am running out of time to get back on the road and a MOT. I have only managed to find machine screws so far, but not bolts (part th...

Re: Mr Grumpy Brake Disc Kit
The qty 8.......3/8" plain washers go between the back of the swivel & the nyloc nuts fitted to the reduced thickness head bolts that attach the caliper mounting bracket to the swivel. The reduced thickness bolt heads are required to allow clearance between hub and bolt head. http://www.mo...

Re: Lower trunnion thrust washers
Thanks everybody for the explanation.
I failed my MOT with a "clunk" from the suspension, hence the complete rebuild. I am beginning to think that it was the clunk behind the steering wheel!

Lower trunnion thrust washers
Re 1098 MM. The lower trunnions have two thrust washers with a chamfered face. Does the chamfered side go towards the trunnion or outwards suspension arms? Is it there to hold a ring of grease under the rubber seal or to allow the rubber seal to be slid on? I can't make it out from the pictures in m...

Re: Crank rear oil seal conversion for 1098 cc ?
I have had the crankshaft oil seal mod for 20 years and it has started to weep oil as discussed above. My crank was turned smooth mind before fitting the kit. The oil seal was marked B63011312. I am in the process of refitting the kit and I have obtained a Mazda MX5 transmission oil seal to replace ...

Morris 1000 body shell
Are there any body shell changes for the 2 door saloon between a 1957 948cc and a 1968 1098cc apart from the trafficator mountings?
Were the doors made of thinner metal in 1968?
Thanks
Al

Possibly a Nuffield 460 built 1961-63. From 62 they were built at Bathgate.
