Re: No oil pressure

I wouldn't rely entirely on the oil light as the switches can be unreliable. Do you have another oil pressure switch to try?

Re: White 1000 Traveller - FYY 809J

I posted a piece in Minor Matters a while ago and asked the club to forward some info if the owner was a member but that brought no news. have tried the DVLA search route but they would not forward anything on to the current/last registered owner. Not sure what else to try really but will keep going...

Re: White 1000 Traveller - FYY 809J

Well, no harm in giving this a bump - my search for my first car goes on - do any of the new folks on here know where FYY 809J is? It's been off the road now since 2011 but would love to know where it is! Any help or clues gratefully welcomed - Fingers crossed (again) :-)

Re: LCB

Must admit I do like my maniflow system on my 1275 (Kent 255 cam, HIF 44 with K & N Filter) - the resonation is not like the standard Minor more like an MGB and it sounds especially good when accelerating in villages/built up areas in 2nd and 3rd where the sound bounces back at you from the wall...

Re: HIF 38 Tuning

I'm running a BBW needle on a HIF 44 and 1275 with full maniflow exhaust (LCB plus middle and rear silencer) and this works really well. Not sure if it will work with the 1098/12G940/HIF 38 though but it may give you a starting point. Good luck

Re: I'm 6ft 2in, will I fit into the front seat of a Moggy?

No, its not a windup! I'm on the hunt for a Moggy having decided to have a midlife crisis. I got into one for the first time ever at the weekend and could barely get my knees under the steering wheel. Do the seats adjust backwards? I didn't have time to investigate in the one I sat in, hence my que...

Re: Things that make you go AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!

A lot of newer cars have daylight running lights and unless owners choose to disable them they stay on all the time. So probably more a case of drivers not thinking to turn any lights on rather than just choosing to turn on the sidelights. I can live with the running lights that some moderns have, ...

Re: Things that make you go AAAAARRRRGGGHHH!!!

SIDELIGHTS!!! why do people INSIST on driving in fog/rain/murky conditions in a car which is usually one of the 50 shades of Grey with ONLY their sidelights on?? Does it cost more money to flip the switch forward one extra notch and light up those big old power guzzling headlamps? Are you actually s...

Re: National Rally 2014?

Shouldn't the National Rally link from the homepage now take you to details of the 2014 event not last years centenary? It's a bit embarrassing that there are NO details there for 2014! Even a location and date would be a start, but with a shade over a month to go before the event I would have thoug...

Not sure that is a standard BMC colour - the nearest to it that is would be Almond Green. Here's a photo to compare. Whatever colour it is, it looks pretty good :-)[frame]Image[/frame]

Re: Fitting suitcase set

There is a photo in ' Morris Minor - The first 50 Years' by Ray Newell (P73) which shows this. Unfotunately my scanner is on strike so can't post it just now. They were apparently made by Alexander Engineering, Haddenham. It was supplied in primer for the owner to have sprayed in their chosen colour...
