OK, parts on their way from ESM. A lot more WD40 and then left a soldering iron on the nut for 2 hours. That worked and it came off. As suggested by autopickup, I tapped the spindle in to release it from the chrome housing. The washer turned to dust.
Thanks all round.
Roger.

Wiper spindle (leaking around)
I am getting a leak from under the wiper spindle on my 1968 saloon. Looks easy - undo the large chrome nut, remove the chrome conical housing, and replace the rubber seal between it and the bodywork. Trouble is, no matter what I do the large chrome nuts (on both sides) will not budge. Soaked in WD40...

Re: 1968 saloon Original rear seatbelts.
Bluegrass, where did you get to on this subject? I have a '68 saloon and would like to fit rear belts, but concerned about how to fit mountings that would comply with the law, MOT etc.
Cheers,
Roger.

Re: Loose boot lock/handle
Thank you, Tom. I'll give it a go - although I could do with slimmer fingers.

Re: Loose boot lock/handle
My boot has ceased to lock so I think I need to replace the barrel, or entire handle. I got as far as removing the catch-plate with the 4 screws, but how on earth do you get at the 2 small nuts holding the handle on? Is there a special tool?
Thanks,
Roger.
Thanks,
Roger.

Tax disc holders
Does anyone know where I can get a period-style tax disc holder? The only ones that I can find are motorcycle type that require a bolt or screw.
Thanks,
Roger.

Re: How to remove the front grill?
I know that this is an old message, but I have just found it after trying to remove the grill on my 1968 for painting. I'll go down the road of masking - I can't believe how difficult it is to get the grill off. Can anyone tell me what shade of yellow the grill is? - or any modern equivalent? I am n...

Re: Buying refurbished Minors.
Thank you all for the advice. With regard to the one in the club magazine, I am in the process of joining the club now so I don't know when I will get a magazine. Any possibility of having the contact number/e mail of the seller?

Buying refurbished Minors.
I have just sold my '48 Riley and want to enter the world of Morris Minors. I would like a convertible, but have failed to find anything within striking distance of Devon. I am, therefore, considering having one 'made' for me by one of the firms specialising in this. What I find confusing is that on...
