John - Thanks so much for your time - it's been a great help.
The blue line you've drawn looks like it aligns with the out side of the suspension mount diameter - mine looks to be a good 3/8" back from that.
Would this little crease be the reason?

Re: Chassis Leg Measurements
Thanks again Panky. Yes the cross member is in the wrong place and I'm in the middle of taking it back off. About four years ago I had welded it in to the old legs. This time I'm taking the dimensions from the shock mount faces on the bulkhead via the jig. Alignment Jig.jpg What I am looking for but...

Re: Chassis Leg Measurements
The Tie Plate Extension (the plate with the big oval hole in it that the exhaust passes through) does have a kink in it. So placing a steel rule to the back of it the rule will rock. By placing another rule across the chassis leg/suspension tube the rock can be measured at the centre point - mine ap...

Re: Chassis Leg Measurements
Thank you Panky. My new Chassis leg measures 13 1/4" but measuring from the jig to the same place on the Chassis Extension measures about 13 7/8" - I can't understand what's going on. I've rechecked and rechecked the jig and the set back from the bulkhead measures to that of the Alignment ...

Chassis Leg Measurements
I wonder if someone could help me out with a measurement of the chassis leg/chassis leg extension? This is a very slow project and some years back I fitted a new O/S chassis leg to the position of the old one (Don't know who made it), to make it fit I had to cut back the leg where it left the floor ...

Re: Bodywork dimensions
Hi Don . I've made up a jig as in the drawing below 2085680672_Alignmentjig.png.57eb766d0b3f6b52991757547458783f.png If we compare dimension K to this drawing I see we have a difference in values. The jig I made does sit forward 1/4" to the rear of the thread on the one bumper iron that I have ...

Re: Bodywork dimensions
Nah, the measurement from the front shock mount to the floor cross member is different on one side to the other.
Looking to perhaps make up a Jig - I found the dimensions, looking for the material but I can't believe the cost of mild steel.

Re: Bodywork dimensions
DOH! I know now that my floor cross member is in the wrong place and that means that the one chassis leg fitted is out also!!!!!! With the body shell on 3 axle stands I've levelled the two bump stops on the rear wheel arches and jacked up on the one chassis leg to level up on the inner box sills. No...

Not if you put them in from underneathBecause the head of the bolt in the "spare" hole would be in the way of the seat frame

Rusty panels
When is it time to replace those rusty panels - I'm starting a full restoration of a series 2 body shell and the floor panels are rusty and pitted inside and out but only holed in the usual corners - I intend to blast the car over so should I keep the original floor or repalce it as a matter of cour...
