Re: They Just Can't Wait....

The same goes when towing a caravan. Loads of impatient drivers who see you coming along with caravan in tow have to get in front whatever the cost, either pulling out in front causing me to brake hard bearing in mind I have over a ton of van behind me or overtaking on bends or double white lines......

dudload wrote:Evening all,

Just back from a weekend trip to Cheltenham and monitored oil pressure the whole way. The results are 50 lbs at 60mph and around 20 (maybe approaching 15) at idle. Are they cause for concern or just about ok?
Showing off a little aren't we "60mph"

Re: Oil Pressure

Unless you compare it against a known gauge you will never know how accurate your gauge is. Even if your gauge is not exactly accurate you have oil pressure and the comparisons/readings you have given indicate that there is not too much wrong with your gauge or engine. Thanks everyone for the feedb...

At cold and start up I am getting 75psi but then do not know how accurate the gauge although the guy I bought from said he had tested it !

Re: Oil Pressure

Just the same as mine, also a 65 vintage. Also, once I had fitted a new radiator and water pump I realised the temperature gauge I fitted at the same time became redundant. I also fitted a temperature gauge however could also monitored any steam coming from the bonnet as an indication

Oil Pressure

Have recently fitted a oil pressure gauge to our 1965 Minor 1000. looking for advice on what pressure I should be looking for when running to gauge condition of engine. We took the car out today for a 30 mile run and observed I was getting 60 psi on the gauge at 50 mph it would drop down to about 40...

Re: Wiper Motor

Thank you all, we have wipers again. Managed to access the switch via LH glove box removal and disconnecting the washer unit. Found wire not connected to switch. Reconnected and "voila" working again.
Now just to sort out a minor oil leak underneath :-?

Thanks again guys

Re: Wiper Motor

Thank you for the advice as I was scratching my head to why they had stopped working. Following your directions have success as the motor runs when shorting the green/black terminal to earth yippee ! Next step is to check the connections to the wiper switch so speedo out it is. I understand it comes...

Wiper Motor

I have a problem in that the wiper motor has stopped working. I have checked the terminals to the motor and have a live feed 12V to the green wire terminal so that seems OK. We have just got car back from being resprayed so wonder if when they sprayed the dash the wiring to the switch was disturbed....

Seat belts

Having problems with the front seat inertia seatbelts in that they jam when trying to put on and not enough belt is being released to allow buckle up.
Can anyone suggest any tips to adjust them?

Thanks
