A bit of air in the tyres, a tank of gas and it's practically ready to go.

Just in case it helps anyone:

I went with Preservacar and I'm very happy.

The chap is a real enthusiast and even has a Moggie of his own.

Re: Need advice on wheels and tyres

Tyres (on the one pictured above) are Nixon 185/70 14, which seem ok. One word of caution though--IF you have an LCB fitted then the N/S/F tyre just contacts the exaust on full left lock, which has never been a problem--yet. Lets face it it is only likely to happen whilst parking manoeuvring at low...

Re: Need advice on wheels and tyres

Thanks to all for your advice. I guess my main takeaway is not many people think using tubeless radials on original wheels is dangerous. I'm going for the 5 1/2 J Wellers and will see how it goes. Still debating tyre size, but will probably go for sensible fit rather than biggest possible. Once I've...

Re: I have a problem about 1948 mm

Hi Sandun. Just curious, but I notice you have several postings asking for information on model identification. Are you writing a book or assembling a web guide, or is this just out of personal interest? I see you are from Sri Lanka. A beautiful country I've been lucky enough to visit several times....

I DO find it inappropriate!
Me too.

His shoes are entirely the wrong colour for that outfit :)

Re: Need advice on wheels and tyres

Hi, I ran Abby as my everyday car for eight years on standard wheels and tubeless radials without any issues with grip or steering, she had a 1275 under the bonnet and vented discs too. Best wishes, Mike. You're not the first person I've heard say they run tubeless radials on standard wheels withou...

Re: Desirable colours-- opinions please!!!!

I wouldn't have my own car anything except Almond Green. But that was the colour of my dad's Morris. Maybe if it had been black I would have preferred that.

Anyone else find themselves driving the same model/colour as the family car they knew as a kid?

Re: Need advice on wheels and tyres

Thanks all for the advice. I guess what I really want to know is if it is worth it going to 5 1/2 rather than 4 1/2. Noticeable difference or marginal? I guess each vehicle must have an optimal width for best handling, rather than just bigger is better - or supercars would have four foot wide wheels...

Re: Need advice on wheels and tyres

175/80/13 tyres on 5 1/2 x 13 Midget? wheels. Same rolling radius as 155/80/14 tyres and smaller Series MM hubcaps fit. Does not look too out of place Interesting. I thought the earlier midgets had steels with round holes rather than slots, and the later ones Rostyles or wires. Are they easy to com...

I've always thought a warmer green on a Traveller looks good if the wood is in clean condition. Not original of course. Should be Almond.

Need advice on wheels and tyres

I've just about got my 67 Traveller Jodie where I want her. Zapped up 1275 on a Toyota 5 speed, hardened halfshafts, front discs and servo, front antirollbar and telescopic shocks on each corner. The weakest link now seems to be the area of rubber on the road. She's still on original wheels and cros...

I'm in Saudi so North or South UK makes little difference. But I need to book holidays well ahead of time.

Or the old wartime standby: remove the rotor arm.

Assuming you do not have electronic ignition that is. If so, swapping the plug leads around works.

Re: Footman James issues

I mentioned Saudi because I think it is always a good idea to be up front with insurance companies. Bending the truth may get you a policy, but in the event of a financially major claim (e.g. multiple deaths, god forbid) they have entire teams to comb through the fine details and see if there is a w...

Hi. I'm a new member of MMOC (member number 75711). To register as a member on the website I need the password from the latest Minor Matters. Unfortunately I am working in Saudi at the moment and my membership pack has been on the way for over a month (probably lost by the Saudi post). No doubt anot...
