Re: Running problem - help please
Oh, the only other query is that, at idle, bits under the bonnet can vibrate quite a bit. Should I be doing something about this? Wedged a bit of rubber between the horn and servo!

Yes, my bad. Light is on when the engine isn't actually running.
Engine seems to be pootling along fine now. Thanks for your help!

Re: Running problem - help please
Thanks. Engine no longer running on, and I think I've got the right mixture - by trial and error. The idle is pretty low. Ignition light not on, but it usually only lights first thing in the day (I have an alternator, if that affects things). How low is too low? It's ticking over - very quietly - bu...

Re: Running problem - help please
Thanks. How do I know how high to set the idle? I see figures of around 500rpm or similar, but how do you do it without a tachometer?
If I set it really low, it can sound like it's about to die!

Running problem - help please
Hello, My MM was running generally fine, but I noticed that the idle wasn't exactly even - it fluctuated slightly. I thought it might be a mixture problem (?), so I turned the mixture nut (the bottom one?) fully anti-clockwise until sounding bad, likewise clockwise, and then back half the number of ...

Re: Brake help
Thanks for both your advice. I thought it looked a bit funny! I have removed the 3-way union as well, but still no success. I have ordered a new one as they aren't too dear.

Re: Brake help
Okay - I am in the process of fitting a new brake hose, slightly delayed because I can't detach the old one from the 3-way union; they have rusted together. See here for a picture of the old hose: https://goo.gl/photos/ucrNtwDwTYv8wZhFA Not sure how small the hold in the middle is meant to be, but i...

Re: Brake help
Ignore the flexi hose - I have copper(?) brake lines instead.
Could it be a mastercylinder problem if the front brakes are okay?

Brake help
Can somebody please help diagnose my brake problem? The rear brakes have been sticking, so I took off the drums and got somebody to press the brake and release. The cylinders push out when the brake is pressed, but don't retract when the brake is released. I unscrewed the bleed nipples and a small a...

Blending in the touch-up paint
Hello,
Just used a bit of touch-up paint to cover a small bit of bare metal. The touch-up is slightly lighter than the original paint and it protrudes slightly.
How can I sort this? Should I gently wet sand it until flat and wax or what?
Thanks

Thanks for the advice.
It's not kept in a garage. I have a Stormforce cover, though to be honest I'm not sure if it's better on or off!

Winter protection
Hello guys! I'd like some advice on looking after my Minor during the winter. I plan to keep using it every weekend or so. The underside was Waxoyled in the spring; should I redo this on a yearly basis, or more often? I've heard people say they rinse the top and common rust spots with water after a ...

And is there a way I can test whether the cylinders are okay?

Thanks.
I've taken both drums off and the adjusters are now slackened 2-3 clicks so that there is no drag. I'll see if they stay that way...

Rear brakes sticking
You probably haven't heard of this in a Minor before, but my rear brakes are sticking... As far as I can tell, the rear cylinders haven't been replaced in a while. Before I buy new ones, could anybody suggest any other parts of the system I should be checking first? Could this be cured by simply ble...

All other lights and horn work as they should. I'll attempt to go through the circuit with a voltmeter.
