Re: 1098 engine starts, runs, cuts out, starts, runs....
Still struggeling, but I'm not about to give up! The problem evolved, now the engine cuts out when warm, after about 5-10 mins driving or 15-20 mins idling and won't start again without given some time to cool down (it is not overheating, water and oil temperature is normal) As all the electrical/fu...

Re: 1098 engine starts, runs, cuts out, starts, runs....
Well, ist was not the rusty tank... Would have been too easy. It was ok for a while, but then it startet again. So I thought, it can't be anything with the fuel system as i changed the tank, filter and cleand the pipes. I looked for the distributor, which was oily inside and the nut of the breaker h...

I also checked the carb, the ignition and the fuel cap, but I'm prettty sure it was the fuel system.
The fuel tank is full of rust and fuel filter was clogged...
Thank you lot!

1098 engine starts, runs, cuts out, starts, runs....
Hello everyone, I've got an rather confusing issue with my SII Traveller with 1098 unit. She's been sitting in the garage for a year now as I sadly can't find enough time for her. But yesterday I gave it a go: She starts good, runs good and for 5km or so, she drives as she should. No unusual noises,...

Traveller Wood Set Plan
What I've got here is a wood set plan for your Traveller with reasonable measurements. I worked that out of the original plans which occur on ebay etc. from time to time. http://up.picr.de/31129443sx.jpg I've constructed a 3D-Model of the whole body in a "10-inch-crosshair-cube" which I go...

"Sir" is alright
I've got some more, maybe i will come up with a post at "Restauration Projects".
I also have plans for the wooden parts with reasonable measurements in millimeters. I'll put them online in the Tech - Bodywork- thread.

Re: Value of a S II Traveller
Thanks for the answers, I'd like to show you how insane the classic-car market in southern Germany is right now: The following image shows a 71' Minor 1000, "restored", which estimate was set on that tremendous amounts you can see below at an auction yesterday.... http://up.picr.de/3038100...

Re: Value of a S II Traveller
Plus you rarely get back what you've spent on them, if you are lucky you break even but then that's not the point of classic car ownership, is it. No, of course that's not the point, but anyway I'd be glad to do so  More to the point why would you want to sell such a great car after spending a...

Value of a S II Traveller
Hi there, as there are no SII offered on the popular sites today, I'd like to ask you about the value of a restored one like mine. What did you pay for yours? What would you pay for one to be yours? Condition: everything fine, ready to go, wood new, carb new, brakes/tyres new, carpet new, all rubber...

Re: 1955 Traveller, VAS 788
I've been in contact with Phil from the SII register. VAS788 was re-registered FEB 311 and it was used as a model for a insurance leaflet:
So does anyone know details about FEB 311?

Which paint to choose
As I've read several quenstions reverring to the types of paint, I'd like to sum up a few facts and tips which paint might be the right one to use for you. At first: Most of our Travellers (up to 1958) have a body number beginning with FL*1 1 ... the last 1 stands for synthetic varnish. The term &qu...

Re: 1955 Traveller, VAS 788
Did you keep the tow bar on the car and, if so, do you have extra supports going from it into the floor or does it solely rely on the bumper posts? We're in the process of fabricating ours at the moment. No, I did not keep the towbar. The way it was mounted, it relied to the bumper posts and there ...

1955 Traveller, VAS 788
Hello! As I'm new to the messageboard, I'd like to introduce myself to you. My name is Alex and I'm from southern Bavaria in Germany. A year ago, I bought myself a 1955 split screen traveller and restored it. I bought it from a german guy whose brother lived or is still living in Leamington Spa, who...
