How much was the kit if you don't mind me asking? Also if it's that good I wouldn't mind one myself if they're readily available, any details by pm if you prefer not to disclose publicly.
Thanks,
Martyn

Re: Silver vs Cream Wheels
Totally agree that cream wheels look better. It's was one of the first jobs I did when I bought my snowberry white 1970 Traveller way back in 1996. Silver wheels look so bland to me.

Re: Clever idea
Ivwe bought a pair of extendable bonnet stays for my Minors yesterday from ESM and fitted them today and I must say how impressed Iam with them. The bonnet now elevates higher with a spring loaded pin so that you can have standard height or elevated height to avoid banging ones head on the bonnet co...

Re: Dizzy work
Yes, if you are confident and experienced, but otherwise, if you don't release the clamp bolts and instead release the two 7/16" bolts as mentioned, and don't turn the engine over at all before replacement, you can't lose the timing. One less thing to worry about! Mark the dizzy body and the c...

Re: Waxing Doorsill
To be honest I'd take the will finisher off and the kick plates, then you can have a good check inside, treat any rust and actually paint waxoyl or whatever in with a paint brush and spray what you can't reach. It's not a hard job but as said you may well have grind the nuts off, you could then repl...

Re: Who's had the Covid vaccine? Anyone going to refuse it?
Had my first jab on 14th, Feb, Valentine's day . Had a slight headache later on coupled with who's punched my arm and bruised it feeling.
Can't understand all the doubters, they obviously haven't lost anyone to it, sadly a couple of very good friends of mine succumbed to it

Re: Marina/Ital oil filters
You will need a oil filter take off plate, two take off plate unions, two oil filter pipes with unions I used 45 degree angle unions), a filter head and two filter head unions. The parts can be obtained from Merlin Motorsport www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk I am certain this is the right take off plate....

Re: Marina/Ital oil filters
You are correct in that there is a spin on oil filter for the Marina with the valve to prevent the filter from draining down when the engine is not turning over. I do not have the oil filter number to hand but will have a look at the Unipart/Marina oil filters I have and come back to you - in the m...

Yes, no problem, it's a straight fit, I have one on my 1970 traveller, I think they look better.

Re: Type 9 Speedo cable size?
Thanks Phil, most of what I've seen on the web say it's doable in situ with the worst bit getting the plug out and the new one in. Getting the car up high enough is also a problem.

Re: Type 9 Speedo cable size?
I doubt that you will be able to drill out the broken speedo cable from the gear spindle because of the make up of the speedo cable. Personally I would take the speedo gear out and then you may be able to extract the broken part without too much difficulty. Thanks for your reply Phil, how does the ...

Type 9 Speedo cable size?
Has anyone got a speedo cable for a Sierra type 9 gearbox lying about, as I would like to know the size across the cable flats in to the square drive in the gearbox, hope this makes sense. The cable has sheared flush into the drive in the gearbox with nothing to get hold of, may try drilling it out,...

Re: 'Smart' motorways
I think all "smart" motorways should go back to having a hard shoulder, they are simply too dangerous. In some places there is not even any way to get away up an embankment or anywhere away from a stranded vehicle which is the advice normally given when there is a breakdown.

You're not the only one, I've done mine using the online form here but no confirmation/receipt. Will get a mini statement from my bank and see if my money has gone out of my account.

Re: TOX 79H The Snail Returns :-)
I have known 'The Snail' for many years, TOX 79H was originally built by a well known eccentric in Wolverhampton in the early 80's, debuted at the National Rally at Weston Park maybe 1986. I next came across it early 90's, sitting in a desperate state on a garden in Shrewsbury in the hands of an In...
