After much wd40 I removed a very tight screw with hair straighteners heat and driver head held in to it.

That's what I was advised was best to use so that's what I bought.

Most of my sentimental tools are my father's.Some I use and are very useable and some are for keeping.

Thank you both for the great advice.One more thing can you show how the exhaust hanger works please.

Can you please advise on these parts.I need a nut and bolt for the leaf spring as picture.Also bushes for the suspension strut as photo.Also can you advise if my picture show a broken exhaust hanger and if so can I get on .All parts are for a 1971 traveller thank you.

May be worth checking if the gear stick is hitting the end of the hand brake and therefore not going fully into 4th.We had that issue and had to bend the gear stick to stop it.

Anything is better than plastic I think.
