Re: Distributor Drive Bush
Bush must have fallen out whilst removing distributor. Found it on the floor just after distributor removal.

Distributor Drive Bush
Just dismantled my 1098 engine. When I withdrew the distributor drive shaft the bush at the inner end of the driveshaft came out with the driveshaft. I assume this should have remained in situ. To refit, should this bush be loctited into place so the shaft rotates in it?

1098 Flywheel
On my recently purchased Moggy the engine is a Austin 1100 from a A40 Mk2. It had a 948 gearbox fitted. I've obtained a 1098 box to refurb. Can a 1098 flywheel be fitted and a 1098 clutch assembly without modification?

Convertible?
My 1958 Convertible has a VIN starting LLB11. This as I understand is a Traveller VIN?? Log book shows Minor Coupe 948cc with first registration 04/01/1958. Is this just a mistaken VIN. Would someone convert a Traveller to a Convertible? Very unlikely.

Re: Moggie engine removal-the easy way.
If the engine is detached from the gearbox for removal is there anything to undo at the gearbox end other than the engine to gearbox bolts?

Re: Engine Number
Thanks Phil I've rechecked and it looks as if it is 10D with the zero partly obliterated.

Engine Number
Can anyone identify this engine number from a 1958 1GD-U-H. I've searched but cannot find a specific match. Some MG engines include the GD part but not 1GD.
