Re: Sidelight/indicator earth
I would guess 'B' stands for Body e.g. as stated above, connection to 0V occurs when the lamp is screwed to the Body! Dave H. Guessing? Clearly electrical diagrams are not your forte.... B is for BLACK, the wiring colour for Earth Cables. The highlighted item 55 is the illustration for no cable con...

Re: Brakes - symptom
Hi, so after bleeding several times, this is what I get. First press, pedal near to floor, second press, pedal half way and firm. Brakes working well or seem to be. Replaced m/c, all slaves, flexi pipes, copper pipe across axle. Bled x3, going from furthest from m/c to nearest. Realise now it has a...

Re: How many of you can weld, and how did you learn?
When I left the Army in 1972 I was enrolled into a government mechanics training course. It had been a hobby for several years previously including maintaining small generators as part of my army life. So, First day at the training course in Leeds we were given a 6" length of 1" diameter s...

Re: Purolator - how tight?
Thanks for the link however given the current issues I think if I did go for another head I'd try through one of the restorers that sell second hand parts as opposed to risking eBay again. During my restoration (ongoing) of my Traveller, I converted to screw-on type oil filter. This leaves me with ...

Re: Combining Accuspark and Sparkrite.
How magnetic points work and why you can't set-up static timing with them. The object is to provide the correct 'pulse' to give the best 'spark'. So, a static Hall effect sensor will be used along with rotating magnets. The problem here is that the output of the Hall effect sensor will not give the ...

Restoring Ruby - long term project! With questions . . .
So, Ruby - Morris Traveller -TMK 958F. Purchased by middle son Ben for a trip to Mallorca with his younger, brother who went for Triumph Herald. Must be nearly 20 years ago now. Ruby stayed, as a daily, over there for several years before being transported back to the UK where she was a daily for ov...

Re: GPO ladder
Maybe a few more details: Length, width, number of steps, distance between steps and material would help.
There a lots of step ladders on sale - whether or not the age and ties to the GPO/PO and Morris cars have an influence or not - ??

Re: Cold start Yes - Hot start No! Asdvice sought please.
Just in case . . . I had a 'similar' issue with a Hillman Imp which turned out to be a loose cork sender gasket in the fuel tank. Started OK ran OK but then would stop for no apparent reason. The cork gasket was being sucked down over the fuel outlet. Vacuum slowly dissipated - gasket floated away a...
