Re: 15 inch wheels and gearing

JLH minors does minilites style wheels at 4pcd, 5.5" wide, 14" & 15" dia at around £90 inc vat. To get the gearing up I want using wheel + tyre I'd have to use something like 185/80R15 at the rear which can be got, but I don't think is feasible unless I change ride height of the c...

Re: 12g206 head thickness

Thanks for that, looks promising. Yes I thought skimmed too. It's had a bit of life somewhere already. Going to clean it up proper now as it's collected some fine grit in it's travels. I was planning to put it on a 1098 IF that engine come through a thorough examination...but it could go on 948...I'...

12g206 head thickness

Got hold of one these (fairly scarce) heads, looks in reasonable fettle, somebody's put in slightly bigger inlet valves but I understand this was common BITD, I've put a vern. calliper on it and I'm getting a thickness of (mm) 68.84 68.80 68.80 68.52 68.70 69.22 average 68.81 (2.71) depth of rocker ...

Re: 15 inch wheels and gearing

in case anyone is interested john brown does 15" and 14" minilites but they're over a hundred each. That's a lot. A 15 on the rear and a 14 on the front might look work quite well? A least for posing purposes :) johnbrownwheels.com/wheel-finder/morris/minor1000/208/109 Otherwise I think it...

15 inch wheels and gearing

Might not be economic or even feasible but as 3.9 diffs become steadily rarer and/or worn out (and in some cases recently, badly made!), can carefully chosen aftermarket or custom 15" wheels on the rear we used to gear up the transmission on a 4.2 mildly tuned-up MM? Obs. welcome...

ESM disc brake kit

Starting to prepare to put an ESM steel hub ford disc brake kit on a 1957 2 door (note to self: get a tub of lithium grease pronto). Some good instructions came with it (when I did the marina version quite a few years ago they weren't so detailed, and I remember having to source the calipers). Anybo...
