All the usual Morris Minor spares places will sell parts, but for folk who have forgotten more than most of us know about SU carbs and sell all the spares you could ever dream of, Burlen Fuel Systems is the place to go:

Most motorcycles use "changeable" oil in the front forks, so a bike shop will have a selection of different viscosity oils specifically designed for dampers. :D :D

Another vote for RH here - now we've got two classics, our Moggie and a 1275 Midget, I thought it would be better to have them both on the same policy, which RH have done this month for £110 for both - I think the Moggie portion of that premium is £54, fully comp, agreed value, unlimited mileage, tw...

When I restored my Midget, to get the alternator looking like new, I took it apart and seperated the alloy end castings and grit-blasted them, then lacquered them. Then I painted and lacquered the steel plate centre part and re-assembled (greased the bearings while it was apart too). But then I'm li...

Agree with all of above - that's exactly what I did to mine. Mind you, the walls are now so covered with shelves and "stuff" the effect of the white paint is dminished somewhat....

Looks a good bit of kit - what a result! Nice welding - excellent for a first go. Slightly more penetration (i.e. slightly more power) would be ideal, but if you put too much power on it you'll blow holes through it, so as I say pretty good stuff there! Have you visited http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/...

I've read somewhere the coil packs can fail. I wonder if you are suffering from the start of such ? Paul H. Yes, if it's a conventional-looking single coil with a king lead, they are quite reliable, but if it's a coil "pack" (effectvely a coil per cylinder but packaged together in a block...

The timing is ECU controlled, so there's no way to adjust it without either some major bodgery in moving the crankshaft sensor or re-mapping the ECU, neither of which will sort the problem you have. It's highly likely to be more to do with the injection system - having the injector cleaned is a good...

Replied to PM - but for other's benefit I got the Letaset direct from Letraset themselves, I googled "Letraset" and got their web site, which is pretty poor TBH, but I did manage to find the font and size I needed - I think it was Helvetica bold 5mm but I could be wrong. I phoned in the or...

I saw this last night, good program, enjoyed it.

Well, if that was your gaff Dale, it looks lovely! What a fantastic looking house, really nice location too, and a lovely big garage! Very jealous (in a nice way) - one day I'd like that much space!

Nice one. :D :D

The proper colour is old english white, Ive found magnolia smooth hammerite to be a close match and used it on wheels and grill. Somebody else told me about magnolia Smoothrite - but I've never seen it, do you know where I am likely to be able to get some? Sounds like an ideal solution for wheels! ...

Brilliant - 3 cheers for Nigelr - that's what the Moggie scene is all about isn't it? Glad it was a quick fix, this one had the smell about it that it was going to be something simple in the end, I bet you're glad you didn't go ahead with swapping distibuters now! That would have fixed it of course ...

Just one thing - in the other thread there'a a picture of each side, and one side has maroon wheels and the other cream - why's that then? I prefer the cream ones myself....

Nice one! :D :D

Yeah, a roof is always a pain and can take quite a lot of paint, it's worth organising some benches or trestles to stand on either side of the car while you do it. You might well do it with 2 litres, it all depends on so many variable factors, such as whether your gun is a wasteful type (like mine!)...

Hey, no problem mate - you're very welcome! It's been fun, at this end at least! I'm supposed to be decorating the bedroom, but I'd MUCH rather be helping someone get their car going! Don't worry at all about asking for advice - that's what the forum is here for, if we didn't want to help we wouldn'...
