Re: JOKES THREAD.

This one works best said out loud...

Two blokes walking towards each other on a footpath. One bloke has a great big pole under his arm.

The other bloke says "'Ello mate! Are you a pole vaulter?"

The first bloke says "No, I am German, but how did you know my name was Walter?"

Re: Wilson 1966 4 door trafalgar blue

What a lovely car, looking so smart in the sunshine! Morris Minors polish up so well and look fanastic. It is such a great feeling when you sit in the car on a sunny day just before turning the ignition and taking the car out for a spin. The anticipation is wonderful. I hope you have many happy mile...

Re: How many people own a trafalgar blue morris minors

This is a strangely wonderful thread, with a convoy of Trafalgar Blue Minors. Doreen was built in 1970. It is interesting to see so many still around as I don't think that this was a colour used throughout the life of the company. I am sure that white Morris Minors must be as close in number to the...

Searching through the archives...

Hello everyone Doreen had a spot of bother recently, what with the cold weather and everything. She was very sluggish in the mornings so I put a new battery in. Yet when I turned the ignition, there was a clunk and nothing else happened. A search on the forum under ignition and starter motor, with a...

Re: Whats your mileage?

Steve and Kelly said 100003 ! Pootled about yesterday until the 9's all disappeared We are now on 001598, having crossed the equator in November. Some neighbours were bemused as they saw the car drive around the block over a dozen times. We then stopped and my 10 year old took photographs of the mom...

Thanks Kate. That was a real treat. Just had a happy ten minutes looking at old pictures with a cup of tea. Perfect.

Re: Owners Clubs of the future

It is happening already. I own a little bookshop and one gets to know one's customers well. I have had three conversations in the last three weeks with people along the lines of "the car wouldn't start but the mechanic said that the computer diagnostics showed no problem". Curiously enough...

Re: Minor Scam!

Hi Paddy Thanks for flagging this up, but I am with BMC and am not so sure it is a scam. These are two of the most popular classic car selling websites. From many wasted hours looking at these sites, I have found cars appearing on both quite frequently, and quite often on ebay as well. Factual error...

Re: Snow Driving, Minor Style!

South Wales has really been hit this year. I hope it thaws soon enough so you can get the fleet out. I have a good friend who throws a party "to celebrate the end of January" every year. It is a great idea and a get together which no one misses!

Re: Snow Driving, Minor Style!

There are some fantastic photos and stories on this thread. A small yarn to add... Bath is quite hilly, and there is a nasty little chicane on a hill in King Edward Road, which is a residential street in the suburbs. We have escaped the heavy snow until Tuesday night... At 10.30 ish bloke number one...

Re: Dipswitch (or dipstick!)

There was a great thred about this earlier in the year. My particular trick is slipping into fifth gear and.. er back into fourth hoping no one will notice. Violent braking in a modern car is another side effect. My 10 year old sons friends are completely blown away by the fact that you can remove t...

People in Alaska and Norway may laugh at us now, but it has been scientifically proven that their infrastructure falls to pieces when they get the grey overcast weather we are normally used to.

I watched a DVD of 'The Damned United' last night which was completely enjoyable. Apart from the gripping football story (I was born in 1961 so it was all huge when I was a kid), it was also set in the seventies... The was ne'er a moggie to be seen until right at the end when there is a scene with C...

Anyone else noticed that there are no West Country moggie owners willing to be more exact about where they live ? We are all too afraid to be that's why! There's been too many stolen in our neck of the woods,it's probably the root cause of my insomnia......... Steve & Kelly may be right, althou...

Watched '633 Squadron' last night. Great fun! There was a very odd 60's Land Rover in the background early on. The women's make up and hair was completely wrong, just like in 'The Battle of Britain'. The best moment in the Dambusters is when they hit the Dutch coast and variously say 'Enemy Coast Ah...

This forum is amazing. It reminds me of Johnny from the spoof 'Police Squad'. People would ask him 'What's the word on the street?' and the gag was that he would offer specialist advice to Cardiac Surgeons and Firefighters as well as to Frank Drebin. What do we not know? Awesome. Harry & Doreen
