Re: Van rear shock absorbers
Thank You for your post. The information you posted would make the Volvo 244 a excellent match. I have to believe Russ did his home work before trying them. Today I see a shock on Ebay - he says It is correct for Morris Minor Van/Pick up - listed as 10 closed & 16 open. listed at http://www.ebay...

Re: Van rear shock absorbers
Does any one have an original shock they can measure to give me the attributes. Or Does any one know a dealer that would give me the information? Compressed length, extended length & Stroke if possible. The reason I am asking is all the shocks people tell me will work on the Van have different a...

Re: Ethanol in Petrol
I totally agree with you. I found what you wrote about the past interesting. Small amounts probably do not harm our motors. I just wanted people to know long use does take its toll on the motor. I am sure you agree 27% lower fuel economy is not exceptable. That means more fill ups & cost to us t...

Re: Ethanol in Petrol
If you guys think it does not hurt your motors you are fooling yourself.. It not only promotes wear it also gives you lower fuel economy. The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) case for E15, a fuel blend consisting of 15 percent ethanol and 85 percent gasoline, has completely fallen apart, as e...

Re: 60 Van Rear Number Plate Lamp
I was thinking the same thing. That is more then head lights.... If you buy all the fixing 2 Screws, 2 clips, rubber seal, lens, bulb holder, 2 bulbs It comes to almost 26 pounds plus shipping.. What are you going to do if there the only game in town? I guess feel lucky you got the parts & not l...

60 Van Rear Number Plate Lamp
Does any one have an extra origianl Number Plate Lamp for the rear on a van. Or know of a replacement part from one of the vendors. What are other people using as a replacement on their Vans? I can not be the first one to need the Number Plate Lamp for the rear. Thanks for your time & help, Vigil

Re: Instrument light switch
The original cover on my car is Amber with a metal piece that flips over the cover. This directs the light away from the driver towards the dash & floor. The light does not get in the drivers eyes. When i flip it the other way my friends say it looks like a yellow man inside the car. I am not su...

Re: oil pressure problem or not?
It has never been changed so the spring could have been changed by the heat is what i was hoping. I am not looking forward to pulling the motor again. The parts - valve, spring, washer & new cap if needed are all cheap. It sure would be great if it solved the problem. I am probably not that lucky...
