Mike that was a club car that nobody knew about and why does the club need it ! .The club imho and others is using club funds where they would and could be put to better use ie website and I know others think this way .I noticed you mentioned that there are people that should be hoping you have nothing to do with the website that was the threatening bit I was mentioning and I have to say panties in a bunch was a bit disturbing    .I wondered then if I asked a question about the club would I get a straight answer ????.

Waste of time.

IF you contact ????????, he MAY be able to help with your enquiry...

Photocopies from Parts Books showing SMM & S11 bodyshells/text is all I require - MMOC must
have these books surely.

Willing to pay of course.
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Chris - the person to contact at Derby would be Ray Newell. He would know whether the Club has copies of these books you require. After all you are helping members get the correct numbers for their cars?

I think the club should be more active on Facebook. The Citroën Car Club and 2CVGB are both very active on Facebook, and get a lot of interaction from members and non-members. MMOC Facebook page hasn't had any activity in well over a year. A real shame. Would be nice to see photos of cars and events on my news feed, like I do with CCC and 2CVGB.

But surely thats just something for the membership? Not anything that the powers that be(whoever they are)can do anything about.Facebook isn't the sort of thing that would interest me personally though(its full of people unfortunately).

Facebook? Nope! wont go there, too many issues surrounding the whole concept of "social media".

I never did understand the "scattergun" idea of this where all of your "friends" are subjected to "everything" you post about your activities. I have different sets of friends with different interests, they have no great interest in the stuff I am involved in outside of the "shared" interest and I prefer to filter out the "uninteresting" aspects of my life from the different groups, I wont bother with the privacy and data mining aspects of facebook which personally I find very disturbing.
The voices in my head may not be real.... But they have some damn good ideas.

I've read the t&c's of facebook, and if I've interpreted it correctly you give permission to no end of intrusion, ok if you don't mind the world knowing your business, I suppose. Pity really as there are some aspects that I hear are interesting, I'm thinking of photos of towns and shops as they were years back I'd like to see that aspect but have held back so far. Trying to convince myself that nothings very private nowadays anyway. :-?

Facebook sells your information to all manner of people and companies and uses keywords to initiate this   .The loyalty points cards from supermarkets do the same nothing is private nowadays .The helicopter flying over your house and the van with a camera driving down your road is Google earth and streetmaps letting everyone know what you have :( but at least you can opt out of it :)

You're quite right but some people love telling the world about themselves! The fact that these places exist is proof of that.
I remember, going back a while mind you, on this very forum there were people trying to outdo each other with their medical ailments, believe it or not! Takes all sorts to make a world, as they say.-----By the way did I tell you about my------

Now, I'm right new to all this forum stuff, but quite enjoying it all. Must say though that some of the real experts are a bit patronising and arsenal to us folk who know a bit from experience but aren't God like creatures. I've been hit by a few thunderbolts from on high! I like the idea of sharing thoughts/experience with other enthusiasts and admire the incredible knowledge of the true gurus but it would be great if we could keep the real experts in an 'advanced/specialist' section and stop them making us ordinary mortals feel like pond life.

I manage to live without Facebook and I'm 17!

I do disagree with their policies, (mainly the whole privacy side and the level of information they want) but I do think its a tool the club shoud use more often. It's good way to get publicity for the club and makes us look a little less 'out of touch' in the 'modern age'.

I've stayed clear of Facebook as I don't want to turn into one of those people who walk 'round all the time staring into an iPad (or whatever they are called) for fear of missing a message from one of their "friends" - and in doing so ignore the real people who they are nearly mowing down! The sheer number of people who sit in pubs these days completely ignoring their partner/friends/things happening around them to gaze silently into their tiny screens never ceases to amaze me. It's not for me, I'd have to carry my reading glasses around with me to do it, anyway...............
