Separator for HT leads
Does anyone on the forum have any sources for a separator for the HT leads which is contemporaneous with the Minor. I have seen many on the various sites on the web but none seem to fit the bill, even Holdens !
The nearest I can see, and it may be fabricatable (?) is in this picture.

Re: Separator for HT leads
I've got one on Max. Seems to be some kind of quite flexible synthetic rubber stuff. Unfortunately no identification marks on it, but looks fairly old.

Re: Separator for HT leads
Could you please post a picture with dimensions. I have some material which may suffice but I'd like to get it as accurate as possible. Many thanks

Re: Separator for HT leads
Had to take the cap and leads off to get a pic. Not the best but here it is.
80mm long x 14mm wide x 3mm thick. Radiused ends. Its VERY flexible and distorted but I think its probably at least 28 years old.
A thought perhaps. Fabricate one out of a thin piece of scrap metal. Drill the holes over-size to allow for cable grommets. Spray with black stone-chip. Max has got a side-entrance dizzy cap so wouldn't work for me as it would probably be rattling against the top of the dipstick all the time.

Thanks for that. Neddy's dizzy is also side entry (Fnaar Fnaar) so I will try and find some soft rubber and make one up.

Love it. I like the idea of the toe separator ,bar somehow Superdrug's foam version would not look good under my bonnet. AND my ex-wife would not be best pleased, even if she came down off her broomstick to tell me so.

Re: Separator for HT leads
MOGBOB, many thanks, they are broadly the same as Holden's sells. I am looking for something that is consistent with what would have been there in 1950's / 60's
I have bought a sheet of this and will try cutting my own using PalaceBear's measurement and photo. It is only £2.99 with free PP so I cannot go far wrong and it is big enough for several attempts

Wow that is an amazing engine compartment.
Nice job!
What's the letter S on the left bulkhead by the way?
I'm guessing it's factory as you have the rest so original.

It is not mine but I think the answer is somewhere else on the site. I just aim to get mine merely approaching that - hence all the arcane and anodyne questions - Sorry !
