Re: Where's Roy?
I've just had a look and I see that his profile is still 'live'.
I hope it can be left that way to his memory. As someone else on here said, there will only ever be one BMCecosse.
Also that way all his posts / insights / advice will remain on here and available for those searching topics for information to solve their problems.
RIP Roy.

Don't put 'gear oil' in the gearbox - it rots away the brass/bronze bits. As Phil says - likely to be the crownwheel/pinion and NOT the 'diff'unless it only happens on cornering? Perhaps a an oil change in the back axle would be worth trying. Otherwise pretty much all covered. Just a thought - is the engine steady bracket secure - and the engine/box mountings in good order?

Re: Where's Roy?
I haven't been on here for ages, life and all that!! But my husband had gone on yesterday and told me over dinner in the evening about 'bmcecosse' otherwise known as Roy. I was shocked and saddened.
His tag always frustrated me as I could never say it!! but boy! will he be missed!! I think he also shared his vast knowledge with me once or twice too and I loved his direct no nonsense approach and I'm so pleased to see his profile with the smiley wee man waving the Scottish flag so proudly along with the photo of him in his train. Awesome!!
God Bless you Roy and thank you! X RIP

Re: Where's Roy?
I've been away from the forum for a long time and just recently returned. Very sorry and sad to have come across this information.
Roy always posted sensible, clear instructions / views on the issues and queries I raised, as he did for everyone else too, he was an absolute mine of information. It's a little late to pass on condolences to Roy's family but I wanted to give my bit of thanks to Roy's memory and appreciation for his taking the time and effort to give his advice, Thanks Roy, you really will be missed!

Re: Where's Roy?
There was something very special about Roy.
Now that some time has elapsed since his passing, I can say that I know he rubbed some people up the wrong way. He was mischievous at times and knew that he was 'pulling their chain' (his words). But I came to this site day after day to see what I could learn from him--and that was a lot. I have to admit that his skirmishes with some members were entertaining (no disrespect to those on the wrong end).
RIP Roy
I hasten to add that he certainly wasn't the only one with lots of helpful information offered freely. There was then and there are today many others. I suppose what set him apart was how prolific his postings were. The sheer volume of advice and opinion was amazing.

Don't think they did. Got the impression he wasn't a 'club' sort of person.
