A sudden thought - If it was not for bees I would not have my Minor.
The previous owner Miss Nora Yoxall struggled to move her hives in her 2 door saloon. A traveller came up for sale and she bought that (ideal for Hives) and I bought the 2 door.
Everyone was happy including the bees :D
Miss Nora Yoxall was also a leading light in the stained glass arts and crafts movement so the traveller was useful for moving stained glass panels.

They are a bit scarey, but still do a useful job I understand.

Another character who seems to be pleased to kill. Even if you feel the need, to do it with glee, leaves me wondering.

I have, for the past 3 years a large bumble bee nest in my compost bin. The love the clover on my lawn and they and the honey bees are buzzing like mad on my privet which is in flower at the moment.

On an aside, do bees go for the scent of the Ginger Bush, From pictures on the web it looks like a nice attractive foliage.

Wasps do actually serve a purpose in so much as they help to keep insects in check as they are predominately insectivorous and they also help to pollinate by the very nature of how they catch a lot of their prey.

There was chocolate involved as well :D 8)
The traveller that Nora Yoxall bought was owned by Mr Cadbury of Cadbury Choclolate fame who traded the Minor traveller in for a 1100/1300 (cannot remember which now it being a long time ago).
At that time I was apprenticed at F W Cutts & Co Chipping Campden, Glous who were at that time (now Ford) BMC main agents in the area.
I left F W Cutts & Co and went to work a garage in Blockley that meant that I saw Miss Yoxall on a regular basis. She continued to be interested in the Minor especially as at that time I started using it in Speed Hillclimb events and I drove it to work in Blockley every day.
I believe that when she was younger she used to ride a motorbike.
Yes a very interesting person and especially as her Minor was my first car and it is still owned by me.
Here is the very car on the evening of the first day of my ownership doing a driving test and from there it has been all uphill ever since.
The driving that evening was so energetic that I bent the steering wheel  8)
