Sliding windows and back lights fitted the other day, managed to loose the new reflectors I had bought for it, but Im sure they are not too far away! The original back door lock was destroyed when I was taking the old doors aprt, the square that turns the handle was seized in to the mechanism and not even heat would shift. So Ive made up a good handle from a couple of old ones, just need to drill the doors to put it on.

Today I recovered the original hardboard head lining, I managed to find a really good match in a local materail shop. Its a blackout type of cloth used for making blinds. Hopefully I will get it fitted tomorrow. I also repaired the back armrest panels, the old vinyl has become very brittle and was coming away from the hardboard backing.[frame]Image[/frame]

So headcloth fitted, looking great :D :D :D :D Also fitted the repaired arm rests and all the inner cappings. The back door locking mechanism and handle was fitted today, that was quite a time consuming job.

Next job is too fit the boot floor boards then the back seat can go in, waxiol inside the front doors and the door cards can go on, fit the door seals and kick plates and sill finishers, sort out windscreen washers. Nearly there!!

MOT passed!!!!!! Happy days :D

Just the door beading and carpets to fit and its nearly finished. I will have to fit wing mirrors again, its very strange driving without them when your so used to having them It will be very handy having the traveller to use again as Im moving house in the next couple of weeks and you can shove lots in the back..............[frame]Image[/frame]

I definately wont be putting a roof rack on the traveller again, when you see how small the brass tacks are that hold the roof and channel on its a bit scary........

hello David, very nice traveller indeed, got a good look at it on Saturday past there, i was the fella that was wanting to pick your brains about the best way to go about starting the restoration of a '57 4 door saloon, i spoke to you briefly just before you went in to get breakfast, im sorry i didnt get to talk, my daughter was getting very cold and so thought it best to get her home, just as a matter of fact the minor is hers and dads doing the work, shes 13, but anyway sorry to have missed you and hopefully i can get to talk with you at some other point, i see you have the knowledge.
