I sprayed the shell of my Traveller about nine months ago, and have just got round to flatting the colour (celly) ready for compounding. I've managed to go a bit too far in a small area of the roof and need to add more topcoat. With the paint being on as long as this, should I just spray on to the 1500 grit finish, or do I need to use a coarser grit to give it a key?

Re: Paint query
The thinners in celly should melt and blend into the paint you spray it on so 1500 is fine. Just make sure it is dry and grease/oil free before hand.

Great, thanks
Re: Paint query
resist the temptation to mask it off.you will get a buld up round the area which will be hard to flat out, just lightly spray over the area until the area is covered ,then after flatting the area do the whole area with t cut to get rid of any overspray
