Traveller Wood Set Plan

Post by Alex_Posch »

What I've got here is a wood set plan for your Traveller with reasonable measurements.
I worked that out of the original plans which occur on ebay etc. from time to time.

Image
I've constructed a 3D-Model of the whole body in a "10-inch-crosshair-cube" which I got from the maesures of the old plans.

Then I took each part out and drew in the details. Look like above.

The plans are free to use, but I can't guarantee that the measures fit exactly to all of your cars. The fit to mine was quite good but there were some adjustments I had to do at details, especially drilling holes etc. So please check the measures before working it out.

You can find it here:
Datei von filehorst.de laden
Download available after 15 sec.
It's a pdf-data, sized 1.3mb, 28 pages.

If you don't trust the newish internet-download-witchcraft-kind-of-thing, please feel free to contact me, I'm going to send it to you :D

They make decking out of it so probably strong enough. I also wondered about getting it made up in plastic and then seeing if it could have a 'wrap' of that pattered plastic heat shrink stuff on it. Not for purists, obviously, but would that fill a niche?

I'd love a trailer made to look like an extended Trav rear body with maybe an extra 3 feet on it to turn into a camper van/caravan.

Says it is comparable to decent hardwoods.

That's something you don't often see a Minor pulling! 8)

Alex, thank you for making this! It's something that's been needed in the Minor community for some time.

Rob, I humbly stand corrected, but have sneaking suspicion that the plane may actually be towing the Minor!

They are from the widley published and shared internet plans set so mostly the later car version....but will presumably fit all years just wont be entirely 'correct' for the year...eg some years had laminated rear pillars.....some had only one lamp hole etc...

Hello all - the note from July spoke of "widely published and shared" plans.

I have seen some plans on *bay sold from California, and I seem to recall some years ago seeing a comprehensive set online, but I've done several searches over the last year or so and drawn a blank - can anyone shed any light on whether the Cali ones are any good or they know of a location elsewhere?

Many thanks all...

Many thanks
I don't have a Traveller, however, I might get asked to work on one in the future. You never know.
