Warning. Open cap slowly..

Post by BrianHawley »

Should my '67 traveller have the "Warning. Open cap slowly..." message on the radiator? It doesn't at the moment.

I've seen it on both earlier and later cars, but not sure if it was original or added.

Ray Newell's book (again!) suggests, but doesn't state categorically that the 'Open cap slowly' decal appeared around October 1964. No end date given, but I suspect it may have been discontinued when Traveller and LCV production moved to Adderley Park.

So one of those little moggy mysteries :)

Anyone got an original unrestored 67 traveller who can advise?

My 57 four door had it when I bought it in 1978 and I am sure I have seen a picture in the 'Bible' of one on a car that early !
