Passenger door card on a 2D

Post by 936cbpminor »

Hi,
I am recovering my door cards on my 2D after the 'so called' marine ply failed and split (nice Chinese plywood, I think!!!) and have a question.
The passenger door locking catch is difficult to turn as it rubs on the door card.
Should the door card be cut around the locking catch or should the catch turn over the card.
A photo would be hand, please.

Use aircraft grade birch ply and it won't split. It is not cheap though.

Yes. there should be a small cut out of the card - although not the covering. That is how my car is.
