Anyone Fitted an Oil Gauge on a 1275cc ITAL engine

I had an oil pressure gauge on the old 1098cc engine but on fitting the 1275cc there isn't room for the pressure switch - anyone fitted a gauge to the Ital engine so it doesn't foul?

It is a pain, but it can be done...

I think peetee has one on there with a pressure switch

You will either need to find a T piece that can be screwed into the block - or run a short pipe away from the block and then connect T piece there. That's if you want to keep the oil warning light in addition to the gauge. there's really no need - because once the gauge is fitted your eyes will never be away from it!

TAA DAA! I've arrived [muted pathetic applauding]

OK, I haven't fitted a guage but I can tell you where the sensor is. It is tucked away behind the dizzy and is a real pig to get at with the engine in-situ. There is room therefore but getting a socket around it is the problem. I had to tighten mine up because of a slight leak. For the life of me I can't remember what I used (that's what's taken me so long to respond

)but I think I removed the dizzy first and that gave me enough room.

Got a funny feeling I supplied the 'what ' you used but can't remember whether it was a socket or just a spanner that happened to work in the space available.

Hi all Fitted an electric one myself which is more difficult than capillary version fittings required shown below.Length off socket straights are approx 1".All this is assembled with locktite thread lock and seal.if you go down the route of a flex capillary tube you only need the first 3 fittings.<br>
