Raised letter silver on black number plates
I have a 1958 traveller which is getting near to getting back on the road after a long (4yrs) restoration. It is going to look great and I need to buy a pair of new number plates. Can anyone recommend a supplier as I want the plates to look as good as the car. There is a lot of choice on the likes of ebay, but I would sooner find out which look the best.Thankyou,Roger

Look at some old photos of the period and see what options take your fancy. Esm would be a good starting point, I think you have to prove ownership or something to get plates made.

Re: Raised letter silver on black number plates
If you want the car to look correct for its age, DO make sure you specify the larger 3.1/2" digits rather than the post 1963 3.1/8" ones. Tippers Vintage Plates also offer a good range. Not cheap but the right parts seldom are. Proper number plates DO make a great finishing touch to any restoration and I hate to see incorrect modern fonts used on classic cars!

Jepsons plates are very good and have the correct look. Not cheap but very good.

Now some had the white plastic on black plate, was this a dealer option or aftermarket , or later than 1958 ?
