Hi all,
My son and I have some time to kill while in Norwich this Saturday and would be great if we found an old yard to explore. He is also into photography so wants to take some arty shots of old cars!
We can travel outside of Norwich if you know of one fairly nearby??
The older the yard the better as its more likely to have some old metal left!
Many thanks
Matt + Son!

I thought about suggesting Medlers yard - it is still there apparently, with hundreds of cars slowly returning to nature, though I don't think they are still trading. Could be worth calling?
I went there some years ago to see the mortal remains of the only known surviving pre war Jowett Jupiter - bet you didn't know such thing existed!

I sure that the owner passed away . Now the family have I am lead to believe cleared the yard . If stuff is still there it will only be very little .
most of the stuff was crushed but some cars did get sold on .

Re: Interesting scrapyards in/near Norwich?
I rescued the remains of a '33 Hudson Terraplane from there years ago with the help of Brian G. All the 'modern' side had been cleared and the older area was being cleared then (about 10 years back). What hadn't been cleared was very much returning to nature. Extremely picturesque and a fascinating day out. I'm sure it must have all gone now. Probably a housing estate...
cheers

There were For Sale signs up a couple of months ago when I went past and I have heard that it has now been sold so dont know what is happening to the remaining hulks scattered throughout the yard. Will have to ring Alan who minded the yard sometime soon.
