Spotted today - well, yesterday evening! At the Malvern Hills branch meeting and not-quite-washed-out BBQ....
Series 2 2-door with sunroof. Belongs to a local member who seldom has the opportunity to get to meetings. Any excuse for a picture of a split-screen! Do I see Healey Sprite wheels and hubcaps?

It's all Empire Green really. Just varying ages. The owner is gradually re-painting it but lives abroad most of the year. Only has a 9 week window each summer (???) for Moggie maintenance

Re: Spotted today.
Once again Kidderminster was Moggie-free today. However, two other BMC products spotted. Both pretty rare these days. First was a newly-restored 1963 Morris-badged Mini mk.1 pick-up in Sandy Beige being trailered onto the retail park. Then an Old English White Austin A135 Princess limousine, reg. no. 3EOE.

A few of the Moggies spotted today at the excellent Camerton Gathering - best free show I know, just lots of interesting cars, informal and friendly.

Re: Spotted today.
Nice to see those. I'm particularly fond of the Sandy Beige split-screen. I think its a good colour for it.
I'm sure I've seen the blue car 656BPK advertised recently by a dealer in Sutton, Surrey.

I've been rumbled! Got 656 BPK or 'Beryl' recently drove her back from Surrey with only slight fuel vaporisation at Stonehenge. Nice and original car straight and genuine it's quite an early 1000 as the model was introduced October '56 and the car is November '56. Also in my favourite colour of turquoise too
Engine number APJM H 7005 painted blue not green. DeLuxe spec car with white 'D' on the nearside side of the bulkhead. Heater overriders and half hide interior. Any earlier 948s out there?

I was tempted to go look at 'Beryl' myself but I just didn't fancy the 250-mile round trip.OHP 900 wrote:I've been rumbled! Got 656 BPK or 'Beryl' recently drove her back from Surrey with only slight fuel vaporisation at Stonehenge

Re: Spotted today.
Spotted this yesterday at the mid-month Kidderminster classic car meet. It's a bit of a rarity so I thought I'd share.
1952 Austin A40 Sports with Jensen-built ally body. Restored, including the metallic paint to 1955 condition... ...when it competed as a 'Privateer' in the Tulip Rally. Period mods are: Stage 2 head. Uprated brakes. Knock-on wire wheels. Telescopic front shocks. Larger exhaust. Caught a glimpse of the interior before the rains came and the tonneau cover went over. Correct grey upholstery with maroon seat piping etc. Accurately refurbished door-cards embossed with the Austin 'Flying A' motif. Pair of period-correct hand-wound Smiths rally chronometers, dash-mounted in front of the navigators' seat. 4,000 built between 1950 and 1953. Most exported to USA. Fewer than 50 known survivors world-wide, of which 2 are in the West Midlands region!

Re: Spotted today.
There are. The earliest surviving Minor 1000 is one of the pre-production cars which is also Turquoise funnily enough. It was built in July 1956 and registered in September. It regularly attends the National Rally.OHP 900 wrote:I've been rumbled! Got 656 BPK or 'Beryl' recently drove her back from Surrey with only slight fuel vaporisation at Stonehenge.
