Number plate suppliers?

Post by rayofleamington »

I bought some black/silver pressed aluminium pltes a few years ago but can't find where from (they did a special size to suit Minor saloon).
Does anyone have good tips for suppliers?

Alternatively does anyone know if the stick on letters are still available? People used to have them stuck on their bonnet etc..

It's for the 54, and I can't get a cheap nasty orange pair from Halfords etc.. as they need a logbook and I don't have one yet

where to break down next?

You can get the stick on numbers, but they are "not for sale for road use" and have an "illegal" font (handy if you've called your house a strange name ;) ). Blame the stupid rules that came in, meaning if you made a plate with them before a few years ago it's legal to use, but you can't make one now

There's plenty of sites online that'll do ally pressed ones, or plastic black/ silver, who aren't fussy about all the paperwork BS, but they're not usually what I'd call cheap :(

ESM are not that expensive: http://shop.morrisminorspares.co.uk/pro ... 87a8840f42

A modern yellow numberplate will fit a minor saloon if you radius the edges using an angle grinder and a spray can lid as a template...

ESM seemed a better deal than most, and theirs will fit a Minor saloon bootlid, and they would accept the documentation I've got in place of the V5C :D
Thanks guys!

Doh!
Guess what I ordered this afternoon.

I'd still like the contact for stick on letters though :D

Oh and I'd also like some trunnion nuts. I have half a dozen but they must be from early cars and have different threads
The newer trunnions have a much finer thread.
