In , yes I opened a thread on mechanical posts , I didn't have a clue how to adjust , it's all sorted now but I'm in need of the upright now , as the lower threaded part has been cross threaded in the past , I tried to fit the lower trunnion but I noticed it before fitting it ! I fitted the old one , then il replace what's needed when the car is close to completekevin s wrote:If the ride height is beyond adjustment the torsion bar needs the arm moving 1 spline around and the fine adjusting with the plate in the crossmember.

Re: barrie's project
So today has been horrible and wet outside so I made a little work shop in front of the tv in the living room! Much to the delight of my wife , who just rolled her eyes and gave out a tut ! I found 2 towels she never uses so I wouldn’t mark the new carpet to rebuild the rear axle , here are a few pics of what I achieved today under a close watchful eye from the wife
All that needs to be done now is fit the brake pipes, tighten the hub nuts, fit new brake cylinders and pads and drums, and also the handbrake cables. But for now iv got to man handle the axle back up into the loft so the new carpet can spring back to normal and for the wife to inspect the work area for damage or I won’t be feed tonight !

Quite apart from that impressive-looking axle, your pics suggest that Santa has been busy already!

What an understanding lady you must be married to !!!!! Agree with PB axle looks great , a bit of tinsel wound around it and it would add to the festive decorations . Save putting it back in the loft !!!!!!
Re: barrie's project

Re: barrie's project
Good King Wenceslas broke down
on the feast of Stephen.
Brake fluid was running out.
It didn't pull up even.
Dimly shone those Lucas lights
He felt such a foo-ool
when he realised he had
run right out of fu-oo-el

Keep them coming !
We three travellers of Adderly Park,
Without lights, driving on in the dark
One with no front wing,
All still keep going,
Oh what a Christmas lark !
Apologies!

Re: barrie's project
Once in holy Oxford City,
was a Morris Minor born.
One of more than a million
Now neglected and forlorn
Restoration undertaken,
No longer so forsaken
With new paint and chrome,
finds a new adoring home.
Sorry!

As I have always observed, that show demonstrates clearly that it does not !

Away in a Minor,
Full production ahead,
The cynic Lord Nuffield, just shakes his head.
'Like a poached egg on wheels - It will never sell'.
As loyal Minor owners we would make so bold,
To inform Old Man Morris
Over a Million were sold !
I think perhaps I will stick to the day job !

Re: barrie's project
Xmas songs aside I am just impresssed how you sneaked that axle in house.
I have enough problems getting in when I have been in the workshop, with the usual annoucement of "you stink", let alone a major lump of the car.
Its usually a bit like last of the summer wine, where the newspaper gets laid down for every footstep....
