What exhaust manifold will fit ?
I'm fitting a servo to my Minor and have bought an inlet manifold off eBay that has the vac take off.
I assumed it'd be off a Mini or Metro but is an aftermarket MINEX item.
I was hoping to use original Minor carb but bolt pattern means I suppose I'll have to stick with the HS4 that came with manifold.
Problem is exhaust manifold.
Idc I intend fitting a 1275 with an autobox so don't want to change the standard 1098 exhaust system fitted at present as it's a recent replacement.
I don't want to cut the inlet manifold off a Minor inlet / exhaust combo unit.
Anyone tell me (if available) what exhaust manifold will fit a 1098, match existing standard Minor exhaust and is a bolt on unit.
I'm not after performance - just ease of fitment.
Thanks.
Paul Humphries.

I've a few spare manifolds that I can cut up but was wondering it there was something "off the shelf" that would fit .wanderinstar wrote:Why dont you want to cut Minor manifold? You can pick a Mini one up from scrapyard and cut that. In fact I think I have an old Minor one in garage, you can have for a fiver.

Some MG midget exhaust manifolds may fit, but they're likely to be quite expensive if and when you find one.

Just cut the old inlet off - only takes a few minutes. Be sure to NOT cut into the exhaust part which you want to keep - cut well to the inlet side then dress it off with angle grinder. Seems lots of trouble to fit a servo - would have been so much easier to just drill/tap a connection in the old manifold - that's assuming you really are determined to fit a servo in the first place ! You've still got all the re-plumbing to do - which is especially difficult/complicated on the Minor because of where the mc is placed.
You still need to cut it off - and it won't take HIF carb unless you make an adapter plate - OR you can file out two of the diagonal holes on the HIF until it will fit! But the separate MG Metro alloy inlet manifold (or any copy of it) is a far better bet - because there is no exhaust heat transfer into the inlet charge. This alone is worth 4 bhp at full revs.

Are you sure? I know the 1275 manifold won't fit but I'm sure the early Midgets had the same exhaust manifold shape as the Minor, with the same clamp as well.
Take a look at this, it looks similar.
EDIT: Just realised it's a mirror image - I stand corrected.
