1275 A Plus Info Required
Can anyone help me, I have just fitted a 1275 A plus engine into a series II, the problem I have is a tapping in the right hand side of the block which is open. I think it goes to the water jacket but can't be sure. Has anyone got a manual I could have a look at so I can identify what should go into this hole.
Twickenham area.

The tapping is 3" from the bottom of the block & about level with the back of the dynamo.
I have a bolt ligned up ready to fit if I dont have to fit a sensor of some sort.
I have only found a connection for an oil pressure gauge just below the oil filter connection, so I have a sneaking suspicion it could be for an oil pressure sensor.
Can anyone confirm ?

ok
there is a tapping for the oil sensor or oil pressure.
the tapping you are talking about is almost certain to be where the original engine mounting blaocks were fitted.
i have a 1275 ital in mine and that is what i had to do. put a boult in it , to stop the oil coming out.
there should be another one in the same place but on the other side of the block
