RIght i just thought id start my post for the restoration of jeff, went and picked him up at the weekend and brought him back to manchester and after doing some surface rust treatment and taking the lower door steps off to assess any hidden damage he is now sat waiting for mr postie to come with some new parts and a welder and the restoration can get cracking. Oh and after a long carfull look over him we discovered that he is in really good original condition with no patching or bodging.!
Ill post pictures as and when the work progresses, but heres a couple of jeff catching a lift to his new home.!

Looks like an excellent project. The DVLA site says it was last on the road in 1981 so it's only had 13 years on the road from new! Did you get the engine and gearbox with it?

Hey Guys unfortunatly i missed the engine on ebay but i have the gear box and i have a new engine and gearbox on the way already, and as for the colour OMG i so dont do brown in any shade so eventually Jeff is going to be the non standard colour of Pale Yellow and im having all the seats re-upholstered in duo tone pale yellow and cream with champagne carpets and polished wood detailing in the dash, steering wheel and gear knob. So he should look really nice (hopefully) :o

Go for it!
Pale Yellow and duo tone pale yellow and cream with champagne is an interesting choice, that I can't quite get my head around.

However my suspicion is that brown cars were actually fashionable in the 70s, so a relatively cheap way of bring the Minor "up to date" without actual investment or effort.

The rarer colours are rare for a reason, they didn't sell.

Lol its basically cream and yellow throughout, but the yellow is a hard colour to try and explain as its not acid yellow or nicotene yellow its more subtle than that?!?!

Watery school custard perhaps ? :-? In Germany brown is the new silver. Nearly all newly registered Mercs, BMW's Audi's etc are a rather nice metallic chocolate colour. With a tan interior ...looks good.

Why not go for Highway Yellow as that is an original pale yellow colour that was used for o short while.

Acidic :o Loud 8) hmm that doesn't sound like Highway Yellow as its a sort of primrose yellow like this one

unfortunately there is not a full colour chart on the board only the partial one at the top of the bodywork section.
I have also seen another very subtle yellow colour on a convertible let's see if I can find a photo tonight.

Here is the other Yellow one its slightly darker than in the photo as it was a really sunny day and the owner said the guy that painted it thought it looked more period than highway yellow and its believe it or not a 60's Toyota colour.

Hey Guys,

Yeah thats more like it, like i said its hard to describe as its more creamy than outright yellow and like you said its more a vintage colour. I've seen a similar colour used on 50's classic american cars.

thanks for all the feedback.!

:D :) :D :) :D :) :D :) :D :)
