Waxing Lyrical

Talking to a blacksmith friend of mine recently, I asked him how he stops the wrought iron items that he makes from rusting. The answer he gave was "Renaissance Wax", which is a hard drying micro-crystalline wax polish.
It leaves a hard shiny protective finish that stops surface oxidation (rust). I've used it on the steel locking mechanism and door stays on my Traveller but it's also good for wood and leather apparently...I bet you creative souls can think of many more uses!!
It ain't cheap but a little goes a long way, so buy a small tub. I got mine from the bay of fleas.
