Pickup losing power

Hi all,

I have a 1970 pickup and travelled 20 miles recently when it started to splutter and eventually lost power and would not restart then.

After parking up for 10 mins.. It allowed me to start up and drive for about 3 miles when the same thing would happen again..

Just wondering if this is a problem with the condenser or the plug leads or if any of you have any ideas what might be causing this..

Thanks for reading

Could be the condenser - but also could be a vacuum in the fuel tank. Does the cap have a vent hole? Run it till it happens again - then nip out and take the cap off... Do you hear an inrush of air?

could be electric or fuel related - check out similar thread from Louise as it's got a lot of useful advice.

stopping after 3 miles won't be fuel cap vent related.

Depends....if the tank was pretty full... Easy check -worth doing.
