Ginger bush
Do we have any gardeners who can help my wife with her ginger bush. It has started to curl up and doesn't look very happy. She may have been cutting it too severely or over watering it. I'm sure we must have some expert gardeners in the club.

We went on holiday to the Azores where they grow like weeds. She managed to find one when we got back but I don't think it likes the english climate

Re: Ginger bush
My wife has the same/similar and trims it twice a year , maybe over pruning is the problem?

We are a ginger(ish) family and I must say that if I refered to a 'ginger bush' all the kids would roll around laughing and the innuendo game would start big time!
Having said that I do know that such things exist in the horticultural world and suggest the OP consults a gardening website where people have cleaner minds

I desperately want to 'contribute' to this thread but my instinct begins in the gutter and travels downwards.

According to the sublime Oscar, 'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars.'
Re: Ginger bush
Oh dear what have I done after reading my first post I can see that I should have worded it more carefully. My wife has now read it and I'm in deep poo poo mind you I'm always in it it's just the depth that varies. She says that she cannot now go to any Morris Minor events as everyone will be asking her how her ginger bush is doing. My ear is swollen and I slept on the sofa last night.

Re: Ginger bush
It's not that serious, given us all a bit of a laugh, You will probably end up on the News Quiz, but in any case a bit of a close shave. Is the Bush in question of the Brazilian variety, I know from my own experience that there are several, and is it large enough for topiary ?

I understand that they can complement a carefully tended Box in part shade with moist conditions.
