I've no idea whether it's true or not - probably is, even though it does seem very odd but it's a story that keeps getting 'recycled' every few months!
It might have been true when I first saw it about a couple of years ago, I think........ but who knows now?

Just lazy, inept, reporting by The Mirror and, the day before that, The Sun.
The rest of the world had the story well over a year ago.
It's laughable that if you use the link The Sun has on their page, over to Surry Live where they lifted the story from, it's the 2021 version.
Likewise, the Mirror cites Hull Live, the 'Live' being the big clue, all the same news branded to make people think it's their 'local paper' coverage.

car park operators APCOA have confirmed the car is not parked illegally.
In a statement, the company said: "The parking charges are paid and up to date so this is not an abandoned vehicle."
