Possibly unwise to paint the piping as the paint can crack. Attaching the wing loosely will allow paint to get into the joint area ready for piping after painting.

The reason I painted piping is because the other side been done so just painted it so it would match other side was done 4 years ago touch wood hasn't cracked yet but always a chance it will

Just when u think ure getting some where boom another load work just noticed when took it out wash need more welding having job taking wing off

Dreading having to.take.the door.offwith the plates.inside.apillar never removed the door.before.so don't want.to mess up little.bit hesitant doing bit reading before I set.to it would it be possible to only undo the bottom hinge to repair the bottom of a pillar panel maybe wedge door open at bottom

You shouldn't have to remove the door just to repair or replace the inner wing - or are you thinking of doing a more major repair?
On my Minor saloon I left the doors in place when I carried out the inner wing and floor repairs. That way I was always able to check the door gaps.
The doors are heavy and hard to remove and replace on your own.
Obviously you'd have to remove the doors if you have to do much work on the pillar, but we can't see that area :wink:

What is this bolt for is it for bolting wing to car can it be removed it wasnot connected to the wing when it came off

Tried clean up bit removed little.bit of.metal.that was under neath think it was connected to wing at some point got decent second hand wing on its way from.isle of Wight to highlands so just repair this bad bit then onto painting wing next week hopefully
