I just ran through fresh petrol on my 57 - it had been standing 25 years but was ok after that.
However 4 years later the petrol stopped working properly and it took me another year or so (when it finally stopped working altogether) to figure out it was petrol degradation

The raymobile was standing ~15 years but is now running by just sticking some more petrol in it (and 2 hours work and changing the petrol pump too )
