Restoration in Scotland?

Postby JamSponge » Sun Sep 30, 2007 9:59 am

Hi, does anyone know where in Scotland I can get my 1963 morris minor restored? - in need of quite a bit of work, but I love it so i´m not giving up on it now!! I´m based in Aberdeen, so the nearer the better, but anywhere really, getting desperate!
Thanks in advance....

Many will overcharge you horribly for this - so take great care. Used to be Minor place in Brechin - dunno if he's still there. There is one in Bo'ness (had a small line of Minors and Minis outside yesterday). probably best bet is to find a small local garage - owner-mechanic if possible, and negotiate with them for specific work to be done and at what cost. But you need to have a budget in mind - and have the car fully surveyed before you start so there are no horrible surprises half way through. Rust is the enemy - mechanical condition/parts etc are almost irrelevant - they cost so little compared to rust repairs.

Contact the North East Morris Minors Club. If you need their details get back to me. They will advise.

Wille Low ex Brechin and Montrose now works out of a garage at his home near Arbroath. I've seen his work and it is to a high standard, plus a nicer guy you just won't meet.
I haven't spoken to him for a while, so don't know how busy he is.

Call 01241 828343
