I am careful because I dont want to snap the hard pipe.

I might undo the flexible pipe with the worm clip. then try and lock the hex nut on the hard pipe with spanner and turn the fuek pump off by hand.

there seems to be two hex nuts to choose from where the hard pipe goes into the su fuel pump. one is nearer to the rad than the other although nowhere near the rad. which one to put yhe spanner on? secondly..... can the fuel filter be removed with the pump in situ. I remember it being at the bottom ...

remove the hard pipe with the hex nut nearest or furthest away from the rad?

do the gaskets or rubber rings need replacing on these points coming out of the su fuel pump?

if the fuse is close to the battery, then with a short, the fuse will trip out rendering the circuit no risk. but i agree, better practise is to wire internally.

what rating is your cable? if it's 2amp cable and you're trying to draw more than this through it, you're going to get into trouble. also, i think 10 amps is too high a fuse, try 2 amps or 4. you're going going to use a hairdryer in there are you?

nothing wrong with going direct from battery as long as you put an inline fuse between the battery and the socket, preferably as close to the battery as possible.

yes, that metal piece needs to be wedged into the top edge of the battery and the rods are tight, "pulling" the battery into the front bulkhead.

hi there, do you have any recommendations or moped/scooter insurance up to 125cc with CBT, possibly 3rd party only, one that doesn't mind a couple or a few mopeds on the insurance for the named person, or that doesn't have a 25 pounds admin charge to swap them over?

many thanks for your advice and pictures, what sort of size wood is adequate to spread the load? i use a bit of 3" x 5" laminated fibreboard but is this too small on the front chassis legs with axle stands? on the back it's easy i just jack up the axles nearest to the wheels i can get, or ...

that's a good tip, what size blocks of wood do you use tubby? i used to use 5" by 4" laminated layers of fibreboard on top of the axle stands on the chassis legs, do you think this is not enough to spread the load or should that be alright?

who am i to tell you what to do but i personally wouldn't change the colour, too much hassle, i personally prefer trafalgar blue! perhaps do a trade or sell and get a white one?

that's hammerite. it has a picture of garden gate on it. it reacts with zinc phosphate primer. not so lovely.

i can't remember rightly but i don't think i can topcoat zinc phosphate primer with hammerite, it sort of wrinkles the finish, and wrinkles are no good for keeping out the elements right? i wonder what i can use as a topcoat, maybe temac but it sort of looks quite shiny and is bitumen based.

thanks bmc, what chassis black do you recommend? would hammerite black do it? i have some of that to hand.
