membership renewal
I've decided not to renew my MMOC membership and could enter into a tirade about why - but life's too sort - suffice to say I could have put up with the draconian moderation of the forum (my branch) but the final straw was the banning of Jonathon Heap of JLH. Most car clubs would have exchanged impo...

Re: Rust found on inner rear 'humps' — advice needed, please!
My post was to highlight the fact that the last time a respected member of our on line community mentioned your previous repairer on this forum they were banned after carrying out work for someone in the same situation as your goodselves. Well that part of your posting is not based on true facts. Y...

Re: Rust found on inner rear 'humps' — advice needed, please!
I'm afraid you may have picked me up wrong - no offence was intended. Russell is a well respected guy and I feel sure you have been given good advice by him and more importantly he will do a good job for you. My post was to highlight the fact that the last time a respected member of our on line comm...

Re: Oil leak through exhaust?
This was exactly the senario with my 1098 Trav for the last few weeks before a complete engine rebuild. No smoke/fumes at the rocker cover filler cap but after even a short run you could not see out of the back window for an oily deposit. I can almost guarantee that even if you cant see it lots and ...

Anyone who wishes may view the details of Jonathon's life time ban http://mog.myfreeforum.org/ftopic1719-180.php
Hopefully this will clarify the situation and bring matters to a close for some.

Re: electronic ignition
Before you go any further why dont you check to see if youve got any dizzies with a working vac advance. If the 25D (converted to electronic) has a working vac advance then use it. If the one on the car (presumably its a 24D as well) has a working vac then swap your electronic kit to it - no point b...

Re: steering wheel
The simple answer is no the 2 spoke horn push will not fit the earlier wheel in fact they are quite difficult to find in good condition. I advertised in the 'Wanted' section for a '3 spoke' horn push for ages until a kind gent from Malta sent me one. You do get them on fleabay normally seperate from...

Re: Series II steering wheel
Look on U tube for articles about steering wheel restoration you might be surprised. I found an old steering wheel which was completely white (instead of black originally) fortunately not severly cracked but following some tips it now looks beautiful - much better than the 2 spoke it has replaced

Re: Washing machine
Roy, as above it all depends on the machine (if it was a commercial machine I would be able to tell you exactly). But why a 10 gal container what about a water butt outside the garage. Use it to water the roses its only got detergent and a little dirt in it.

Traveller Door Hinges
Just replaced the old rusty collection of bolts nuts and washer with a new set of hinge pins with brass ball ,bolt, nut, spring and locking washer.
Might seem a stupid question but how tight do you make the nuts.
