My traveller dilema

I'm still undecided if to sell my traveller or not. It just doesn't give me the same enjoyment to drive like my van, so I want more power and better handling, heres some ideas, what do you think. I have a escort back axle that I could fit, and want a sierra 5 speed box, and tube shocks all round. As...

If a cut and shut car is done properly it can actually be just as safe as any other normal car. I would say some of these rusty horrors that have been bodged to get MOT's are also totally unsafe but people still drive them! and at the end of the day a roof chop can't be as unsafe as a convertible in...

So, am I assuming correct the suppliers STILL haven't got any in yet then??? :o I'm glad my two moggies have new ones already, but I do feal sorry for the restorers that need some, and for people that need their car for daily transport. What happened to my original suggestion, did know one act on it...

Stainless is worth a lot more, so if they are both about the same price as finished manifolds, then doesn't that tell you something about the quailty of the BMMC one? Stainless does hold the heat more so will be hotter, could use exhaust wrap if your conserned but the moggie engine bay is quite well...

Do remember if you have a stainless manifold, you will need a stainless system to go with it. Stainless when attached to mild steel acts like a magnet for rust and the mild steel will rot much quicker. You will get a nicer sound from mild steel, but stainless is for life. I like the orange, will you...

I have a full maniflow system on my traveller, bought that when the car was on the road first time round (before resto when squeezing more power out was high on the list), but very expensive to buy. The quality of Maniflow is very good in the form of build and finish, but I do wonder if it would las...

It would be a shame to destroy yet another marina just for it's parts, being so rare and that. There are actually a few old Ford auto gearbox's in the classic ford department on ebay right now. Being easier to get parts for I would think thats a better route anyway. The escort-tec guy on there will ...

I do like that saloon toginthemog, has a menacing look about it, what size rims are they? My vote is cast, just 2 moggies for me, thats enough! I'm going to be using them this year, instead of building them. Next couple days will see my trav finished :D . Then can sort engine problems on my van (new...

Wow, what a superb selection you've had. I do love that van, and the ride hight of the traveller. Wheel choice is crucial to the look of a car, and those smoothies look the business. I think you'll like my new choice of wheels on my traveller :D . soon to be revealed.
I do like a nice custom

Yes CHEAP alarms are a waste of money and will let you down by draining your battery. A good quality alarm/immobiliser system has my vote though, they even come with second siren options for mounting internally aswell as out :D . The more security the longer it takes to pinch, and more chance they w...

Seems none of you read 'Minor Monthly' then. My van was featured couple months ago with my turbo diesel conversion. Noise levels are no worse than a normal moggie, and grin factor for me is usually on full when that turbo kicks in, and 60 + mpg brings a different sort of grin to my face. Why would y...

Nice Cortina, I like old fords myself. Not sure I fully agree with using the nice stuff all year round as a daily driver, that salt is a real killer, a power wash wont get it off when it has started to eat in to the metal, and that is quick. But after whats been said recently, I have come round to t...

Well, if the real early stuff is known as vintage. Cars from late 40's to late 70's is known as classic. I consider 80's and early 90's stuff as more 'retro'.

So, after 7 pages of discussion, has an answer been found? The use of moggies in adverts is good, but already been done many times and gave off the wrong image. Great, just what we need. A calendar was mentioned, this was also mentioned at beginning of the year using photos similar to my signature p...

In regards to the childrens book. It has been done and was called 'Meet the Moggies' I have a copy bought through minor monthly I believe back in 2000. Ment to be a series I think, but suppose due to lack of interest it never took off.
