Re: Value of a S II Traveller
In my experience not all the cars from dealers are what the seem or should be . I have said this before on another similar posting. How many times do you see a minor for sale with "restored a few years ago by well known restorer / dealer but now requiring some tlc" Just because its at a de...

Re: Value of a S II Traveller
There is one on ebay.co.uk. 1954 Traveller. Still 803cc. Restored. Allegedly good service history. New MOT. Mileage confusing as listing states only 29000 miles but description suggests 60000 miles up to 1967. Only flaw mentioned is slight damage to rear seat cover. Asking price is £8250. It's been...

Re: Voltage stabiliser query
I have the same problem and have done for a few years now ever since I took the speedo out for a check on the cable and laid the clock on the edge of the orifice with the ignition still on. It blew a fuse so things like the indicators etc. didn't work so the fuse was changed, everything else came ba...

Re: Best way to tackle underside rust
If it was me tackling this then I would remove all paint and underseal with possibly a heat gun with scrapper attachment .Use a 4" hand grinder with firstly a Turks head wire brush attachment to remove the worst and then change the head for a medium grade flap disc to finish. And last and by no...

Re: rear wing trim
I've walked away from a few cars these last few years that have had the wing pipeing painted over. I find it just shows that who ever did the respray doesn't have pride in they're work, or the person commissioning the paint job is trying to hide something possibly.

Re: What was your first car?
Mine was a 1974 Datsun 140j . My second was when I decided to upgrade and bought a 1968 two door maroon B Morris minor to which I carried out a running restoration and regretted selling it on ever since for a 1976 mini 1275 with full webasto sun roof and blooming expensive Denovo tyres. They were £3...

Re: How do you remove body wrap?
My mate wraps vehicles for a living and when he needs to remove them to renew he uses a hot air gun . He waves it over the wrap taking care not to get the area too hot and off it comes.

Rather than trust a weld repair why not buy a brand new one .I'm sure they're quite cheap to buy new.

Re: Electronic Morris Minor
Some 35 years plus ago there was a local guy that ran a Hillman Imp on battery power for years in aid of a charity which I forget which one now. He used to get hassled on a regular basis by the local ill informed bobbies as he didn't have a valid tax disc. I was speaking to his son some months ago b...

Re: Uses for old engine oil?
I have a number of wooden sheds at home and they've been up for, shed 1 over 50 years, shed 2 over 35 years and shed 3 over 30 years. All still in good condition with the oldest in very good condition and all treated every few years with used engine oil.

Re: Petrol and diesel ban by 2040
The loss of manufacturing jobs for petrol and diesel vehicles in Wales alone runs into in excess of 18000 ! They can't get the economy right in the last decade leave alone reinvent the car. As mentioned earlier, the infrastructure would need to be taken into account and I feel that it would take lon...

Re: Interesting untraceable noise!
I have a 1969 convertible with disc brakes and I too have an intermittent clicking noise which was noticed by my MOT tester during last years test. He spent some time spinning the nearside front wheel while trying to trace the clicking to no avail. He duly past the car and he stated that "god k...
