Re: Commuting in a 1098cc Morris

simmitc, I was posing the questions to the original poster, who stated he had minimal mechanical knowledge. But in response, all well and good if you immediately diagnose the problem, but this tends to come with experience. Also thats just nonsense about having to reprogram the ecu for every little ...

Re: Commuting in a 1098cc Morris

Realistically a lot depends on who your employer is.. Are you in an industry/company where you can turn up an hour or so late, even just once a month, because the car was playing up starting in the morning, or a condenser broke on the way, etc etc. Will you be able to swap over a cylinder head on a ...

Re: Drums 2 Discs. My story and verdict.

You can comfortably lock the front wheels from say 30mph with the standard set-up, so they're not really ineffective. What you've said about the ladrover owners sounds very familiar.. If you're going to drive her a little harder, (you will get brake fade) or fit wider wheels, then discs are certainl...

Re: Brake Upgrade

Its your choice, but I originally fitted a servo, but them removed it. It makes the brake layout more complex, ruins any feels you have on the brake pedal too!

I'm pretty sure Chickjohn is just being a troll.... No one actually believes anymore that the excess pollution from humans ISNT causing global warming. Also regarding the 2/3 ice under water "LOGIC", When water freezes it takes up less than 10% extra area compared to the liquid state, thus...

Re: Quality of Parts

I can honestly say I have never changed a clutch on any car I have owned in the last 25 years. I use the clutch as little as possible, same as the brakes. 'riding' the clutch costs money as well as going to fast and braking every 5 seconds. Top tip there guys, If you dont use the brake or clutch, t...

155's fit fine on standard wheels, probably as common if not more so than 145's.

Standard cam? And rocker ratio? I imagine that is somewhat limiting given the other parts.

I believe jlh sell poly bush ones, they will have done the most thorough testing and comparison i would imagine. From other cars, i've found superpro bushes to be the best.

Surely inner tubes catch on the internal rivets, and rusty tyre, so wear through and burst more?

Re: Traveller brakes

Removing the top hat seal is not a difficult job, surely not for someone as experienced and mechanically able as you Bmc.... I have done it, its not hard! Also JLH minors sell already modified new ones. Also that may not necessarily be the issue, could be the servo.
