Thank you all for your kind replies, having check previous postings I note that a Major change took place from car number 126725 Jan 1952 a larger stub axle thread size castle nut 1" AF prior to that the size as of my vehicle is 7/16 whit. The problem I have is that the stub axle is slightly larger....

I have a 1951 4 Door MM with a Chassis number SMM 107847. I recently purchased 2 reconditioned swivel Pins complete with Trunnions. The stub axle and the threaded end are larger then the ones fitted and have a part number as follows 127904 S . Please can you advise if these are for an earlier model ...

Re my recent questions on exhaust systems for a 4 door MM I managed to buy a new old stock complete system from Collectors Car Parts Egham Surrey tele number 01784 471431. The system came as a complete unit at a very competative price.

re the side valve MM you can only purchase a stainless steel complete exhaust at a cost of over £230.00.
it would be a lot cheaper if the the exhaust is made of mild steel. or if you could purchase just the front pipe.

The MM front pipe is secured by two bolts to the exhaust manifold as against the 2 piece flange on the later series . If I can get a front pipe the silencer and the Tail Pipe will fit from the the later models.
