Re: Daily drivers!

Thanks everybody! Nice to hear from you all again :) Glad the passenger seat thing would work, the lawn mower doesn't get carried that often so I could take the handles off it when I need to transport it I suppose. You know, I've never been in a 4 door so have no idea how big they are! I'm glad to h...

Re: Daily drivers!

Thanks gang, Van lives to see another day. Just a hose in a stupid place £40 and two litres of antifreeze. Subject of Morris raised with my wife..... I'd like to do it eventually, please keep posting about it, I'll figure out what my van costs to run and post it up. Could I take the passenger seat o...

Re: Daily drivers!

Thanks guys, yeh that does sound like an idea getting a daily already. I've got a 1098 engine completely stripped down and waiting for me to learn how to rebuild it so hopefully I can have a spare engine should anything go wrong. I'll get the verdict on the van tomorrow and then I'll start the long ...

Re: Daily drivers!

Not hugely at this stage, that was a question I wanted to ask really. My main criteria is sound bodywork (had enough welding to last a lifetime) and I'm happy to have a part rolling resto you know? It would be no fun if I couldn't take it off the road and put it in my father in laws garage for the w...

Re: Daily drivers!

Incredible! Last year I did 10,800 in my van and that was quite a heavy year for me. We use our family modern estate for everything else really! I'll be doing a 52 mile round trip on a dual carriageway, three times a week, to get to work. My van gets about 380 miles out of a tank and a tank costs ab...

Re: Daily drivers!

Thanks Steve,

Yes the extra doors on a 4 door for the kids are an essential really, I want to encourage Morris love from an early age!

Daily drivers!

Good morning Ladies and Gents, Some of you know my Morris had to go to the heap in the sky after finding some monumental bodges, missed or ignored by years and years of MOT men and not found by me until a routine handbrake cable change..... Anyways, I've got a bit of cash saved from selling the dece...

Re: Edd's 1098 engine rebuild.

Hello once again. After the first house buying and moving is now complete, the new garden half built and the new shed built I want to pick up with this project. Some of you will of seen my Minor got to the point of no return and basically the only bit of minor I've kept (aside from a few sentimental...

Re: Edd's 1969 2 door. UHU62H

So, that investigation has helped make my decision. If you can see from the previous photo, there is a hammer lying above two bolt holes (I removed the bolts), I take it this was not standard? These bolt holes have been added on both sides and again to my horror, they are drilled through the cross m...

Re: Edd's 1969 2 door. UHU62H

Thanks all.

Well there is no rush to get it out of the instant garage as of yet, I may get the grinder out and investigate more to find the extent of the rot, nothing to lose now?

Re: Edd's 1969 2 door. UHU62H

I have no idea what to do. Storage is an issue as I can't keep it in the instant garage for too long as it's falling apart. I really don't want to sell it, and I hate the look of the shell and the rest of it is in such a state that the shells almost worth getting rid off and keeping just the parts o...

Re: Edd's 1969 2 door. UHU62H

Update. Discovered to my horror after trying to do the handbrake cables and remove the nut thats in the body just under the back bench that there was a funny line, then some sealant, then some rivets and discovered my whole rear floor and inner sill steps with the seatbelt anchors on aren't welded t...

Re: Handbrake securing nuts

Thanks, yeh it just seemed mad to me that they'd be supplied without nuts and even upon a search they're not listed. Crazy. Having fun trying to get the old ones off, discovered a hole in my floor pan where the centre nut goes and has rotted through from a leaky rear window seal running water down t...

Re: Handbrake securing nuts

Sorry to open old thread, I ordered my two cables from ESM, not anywhere do they state they come without nuts so I rang them up and mentioned how stupid it was that I've been waiting for this part and they don't do it. The gent sent out 4 nuts and washers for free after I did this, hopefully they'll...

Re: Edd's 1969 2 door. UHU62H

Update: Both doors done, re hung and starting to put frames back in. Can anyone tell me what size nut the two studs under the quarter light are? I need four as I don't appear to have any!!!!! Wondering if I could get them from ESM or somewhere else. Carb all fixed and tuned. Click click click starte...

Re: Edd's 1098 engine rebuild.

Thank you all, I've not got any panel beating gear. I keep seeing little kits on machine mart or something with a hammer and a few dollys for sale. I've never done any of it before but is a skill I'd like to learn, any advice or pointing towards and decent gear to buy would be appreciated.

Thanks all

Thanks!!
