Re: Rubber mats - not carpets?

My parents bought a very similar 1959 Traveller in 1967 which also had the rubber mat (one piece) as in this car. I remember a very wet holiday to my uncle's farm in Mid Wales where wellies were de rigeur for rear seat passengers as the water had found its way through the holes in the floor and the ...

Re: Lathe video driving Morris in 1950s london

The car featured in this film, 280 AJO, also appears in Paul Skilleter's book "The world's supreme small car". Clearly a BMC promotional vehicle.

Plenty of other Minors appeared at almost every junction too. Good to see and very entertaining viewing.

Re: 1970 Blue Traveller CLK749H

Nearly 8 years on, there is a happy ending to this story. A few weeks ago I called into Chertsey Minors to book my Traveller (the black one inherited from my mother mentioned in the previous posts) in for its MOT. Imagine my surprise when I saw CLK sat outside the workshop! It's still in really good...

Re: Spotted today.

At about 10.30 yesterday morning I passed a white convertible on the A25 just by the Watermill restaurant outside Dorking, whilst on my way to take my black Traveller for its MOT. The convertible looked to be in good condition, and friendly greetings exchanged with the passenger. MOT passed by the w...

Re: Spotted today.

Followed part of the Veteran Cars London - Brighton route between Redhill and Crawley on the A23 this morning. Among many interesting classic cars were several Minors: A grey four door travelling north waved and flashed his headlamps just north of Horley, a very smart B reg Black saloon with a wicke...

Re: National Rally - Photos

This was the first National Rally we had attended since 1990, after a period of 19 years without a Minor. Thoroughly enjoyed by all the family. Here are a few shots of the post 1956 Traveller row and also one of the smallest Minors on display, the 1:76 garage scene constructed by my son Fergus which...

Re: 1963 rose taupe traveller resto.

Not sure which part of Surrey you're in but if you're not too far from Redhill/Reigate I have a complete side in my garden which was replaced on my 1959 Traveller last year. Whilst rotting in many places all the pieces are there and haven't been altered at all so would be OK for measuring from. The ...

Re: rear seat belt traveller

I have obtained some Securon 264s after reading this thread, having previously tried the 254 and discovered them to be too short. Wish I'd read this first. I'd re-iterate the question asked earlier about the 264, as it does have the extra clip which doesn't seem to have anywhere to go when mounting ...

Re: Spotted today.

3.30pm today at the Little Chef, Willoughby Hedge Services, A303 Westbound, a smart green Van (D reg I think), resting with its bonnet open. I hope it was just cooling down and nothing untoward had happened. Only got a quick glance as I was travelling east, not in a Morris at the time.

Handbrake cable guides

I'm part way through a thorough restoration of a 1959 Traveller which has been owned by my mother since 1967. it's not been used since 2006 but will be back on the road soon (hopefully). At some stage the guides for the handbrake cables where they pass through the floorpan have been removed and lost...

1970 Blue Traveller CLK749H

There has been at least one Traveller in my family for as long as I can remember. From 1967 until illness forced her to give up driving in 2001 my mother ran a black 1959 model which took us on many adventures (including my driving test where I was asked to do the emergency stop next to an unfenced ...

Re: How many people own a trafalgar blue morris minors

In the late 1980s/ early 1990s I owned what I thought was a faded Trafalgar Blue Traveller (CLK749H). This underwent a lengthy rolling restoration (welding done by Roy Halsall when he was based near Guildford, where visits were always enlightening and interesting), and the wood and interior replaced...
